Early morning at Oak Alley. The sunrise is just filtering through theses 300 year old trees on the plantation and they are beautiful at this time of day. The soft morning light as it dances through the trees is beautiful. These wonderful 300 year old oak trees were planted before the sugar plantation existed but no one knows who planted them. The house was positioned to enhance the trees presence on the plantation and they seem to create this wonderful canopy over the house and sidewalk. The Oak Alley Plantation is located near Vacherie St James Parish in southern Louisiana along the banks of the Mississippi river. It is now a National Historic Landmark and attracts tourist from all over.
